[Pedwardine]

Hi guys, I'm going to Dectomax the wee soul tomorrow but wondered if any of you could shed some light on the problem. Little Flossie is a teeny little GotlandxTeeswater who has had a rough time of late with Coccidiosis. She's much recovered now and her droppings are are wonderfully normal again but now the poor thing's fleece is turning up all over the paddock in clumps. She's bright and lively and boinging around and eating well but I wonder if the stress on her system from the Coccidiosis is showing now through this latest problem. She's a huge (well, huge for Flossie as she is very very small) bare patch on her throat now and is just losing locks every time she moves bless her.
Any ideas my lovelies?

When mine had Cocci it had no bearing on their fleece. The bare patch on the throat isn;t too concerning - mine always lose theirs there as they keep pushoing their nhead through the stock fence to eat things they shouldn't.... do Gotlands self roo? Could that explain it?

That's quite normal, Pedwardine; when a sheep has been ill it often shows up as a 'break' in the wool, which may literally break and fall off.  It should grow on fine behind the break.  Hopefully she's got time to get a good covering before winter!

Yeah - s' wool slip. I had a ewe with mastitis did that after she'd recovered. Can often happen to a ewe that jumps the shearing pen if you leave it.

Had to post a photo of my Flossie in her new 'fleece'. Here she is with her sister Flora. How cute out of 10? The weather was getting cooler, windy and drizzly. A friend spied this child's gillet at a local boot sale this morning and it does just fine. Another friend brought a couple of small dogs jackets later in the day. We'll try one of those tomorrow as the gillet is a little restrictive when she's laying down. She also may feel less ridiculous. She's had alot of checking out from her fellows in this getup!

Very sweet - yes, not the greatest weather for losing your fleece 
As everyone says, it's quite normal having been ill, to get a break in the fleece, which then sheds. Humans do it too

Ten out of ten for cuteness      Her sister has the most beautiful fleece and I'm sure Flossie's will grow back in soon enough
