Wish me luck - another wet "funday"
« on: June 04, 2012, 09:01:39 am »
I'm involved with a city farm and we regularly arrange "fundays" to increase footfall and to fundraise... like death and taxes the common theme is ..... it'll rain :(  Last time was easter weekend and in fairness we had a good turnout.... today I'm not so optimistic.  I think people may be "evented out".
So I'm off to spend a day in a damp stable selling preloved goods and flipping burgers....
Just once I wish it would be sunny!!!
In fairness we have a footfall of 150000 a year and people here love this farm but....I wish they could love it in the sun today!!!!

Good luck!
We run a community farm and had awseome weather for all our events last year, but like you, had a damp Easter this time round. Next open day for us is in July so hopefully the weather will have picked up by then!

The rain forecast for us never really showed up either so hope it went well - wherever you are!

Its a very mixed bag of weather over here, we actually put the woodburner on last night as we were so cold. Luckily though central France is having warmer weather which is great for my big brother who is cycling with 2 friends from La Havre to Montpellier (750 miles) to raise funds for a new Da Vinci robot for Addenbrookes hospital. It was their current Da Vinci which was used to remove Steve's cancerous prostate 2 years ago without any after effects. He was diagnosed very early, just by chance through a new screening programme by his GP. Steve's neighbour was not so lucky, and lost his life 2 months ago. Im very proud of my big brother, its a big ask at 64 years of age!!
