I have four (3 male 1 female) weaners DOB 1Feb 2012 Black/GOSxSandy & Black £40each

Due to bad weather and our pig pens needing to be vacated for a while I'm having to sell some of my growers, as follows

Born October 2011  all need a further few months growing, BlackxGOS (1 male 4 females) £65 each

Just attempted a "string" weight on the growers and they are approx. 52kg, the weaners are a very good weight for their age. Please see my post in "pigs forum" as to why I need to move them on.

they are very light for there age    had they Been a bit heavier i would have suggested killing them and butchering at least you would get something back

Yes they are! Even putting them on more feed (finisher) they are not gaining as they should. I can only put it down to the state of their pens, Hence why I would prefer they went to someone who has a better environment( we are flooded). Our pigs last year were a great weight. As in my other post we have even managed to move them onto new pens but these have deteriorated in days into a bog. Very very disheartening at the moment.

could it not be the pigs themselves  with a 3 way breed mix are you certain that is the breeds involved   such is the joy of dolly mixture pigs    pedigree pigs do cost more but at least you have some sort of fall back in situations like this

The growers are only blackxGOS and the sow/boar have produced great pigs before. One of the previous litters produced the sow who had the four weaners, who are all growing nicely. See was mated with a sandy and black.

I have pedigree sandy and blacks who are growing fine and are to be breeding stock. My S & B boar is from a strong line.
