Have any of you grown big bamboos say an inch thick or thicker for a crop of plant supports  or for wind breaks etc. if so what were your soil types and what have you grown  , what care did you need for them ?
 I've looked at loads of sites on line and now want the real truths .

I haven't but I am thinking about planting some for the sheep to eat as I saw this discussed on the permies forum.
