Two Soays for sale:

One (virgin) breeding ewe (RBST registered) and one male castrate. Both are just three years old. Both Mouflon colour (traditional, and best?).

We are are hobby, not commercial, sheep keepers and are having problems with land erosion. We need to move the last two Soay sheep from our little flock off our small 1.5 acre piece of land for 1-2 years to re-seed and regenerate. These lovely little sheep are very hardy and have done a great job of conservation grazing, for which we chose this breed.
The sheep were from Julie Suffolk's Backforest flock and so have an excellent heritage. They were blue-tongue vaccinated prior to our taking ownership of them - they're both fit as a fiddle and typically energetic for the breed! They have been a joy to keep. We'll be very sad to see them go but need to sort the land out and start again in a couple of years. We hope to find them a good home and don't want to split them up.

Are the sheep quiet to handle - used to a bucket?  We are also in Derbyshire, other side of Buxton.  If they are still available, perhaps you could PM me regarding price?
