small livestock transportation - N of England to SW
« on: May 08, 2012, 11:58:38 am »
Can anyone recommend anyone? As it over 65km, can't do it myself until I get paperwork sorted. It's for goats and sheep (but possibly cattle/pigs in future).

I normally try the hauliers as often they have empty lorries coming back up the road and
are willing to take small numbers to off set the diesel costs.

I live in aberdeenshire and have bought sheep from Warichshire before.

maybe too soft, but prefer to use smaller operators. I enquired last year and didn't have much response from the bigger guys (we'' get back to you" and didn't).  Have found: http://www.ukgoats.co.uk/ardross.html who seem reasonable.

Smudger, that is Gordon, who I have used to transport various goats from Devon up to us in Derbyshire.  Very reliable, and pleasant to deal with ....plus he is a goat owner, so I know the goats are in good hands on their journey!!
