Banning of sow stalls.
« on: April 24, 2012, 09:15:10 am »
Just been reading on the pig site that they think with the ban on sow stalls coming in that pig production in Europe will drop by 5 - 10% thus pushing up prices. :)
Could be a good thing for us small producers if the crap pork is more expensive. Only thing is I suppose we will just get flooded with cheap non European rubbish.
Oh and I thought things might be looking up. :(
Everyone makes mistakes as the Dalek said climbing off the dustbin.

I think the policing of 'illegal' pork will be tricky, but really hope it all works out.
After all, commercial guys in Britain have been doing it the 'right' way for a while and suffering loss of sales due to cheap low welfare pork from EU - it's about time there was a level playing field  ;)
