Estimated time of kidding
« on: April 22, 2012, 07:41:27 pm »
Ok, so Ellie still hasn't kidded. She is the size of a barrage balloon.

Tomorrow I have to go to work. Properly, not the skiving, bad employee-bad shepherd/goatherd stuff I wangled last week.

She has shown the 'dimples' by her tail this afternoon.

So - how long til she kids do you think?

As you are at work tomorrow, i would say... tomorrow :D :goat:

Ha, you were right about that!
Fortunately I was able to come home at lunchtime and she kidded not long after. A very nice black doe kid with white markings. I can't believe there was only one in there but it seems the scan was right  :D

And she's the last. I'm finished. I can sleep again

What is this strange thing called 'sleep' that you speak of?

I am going to get 8 hours tonight  :D
You watch, I am so used to sleeping in 3 hour stretches and waking up at 4.30-5 that I will anyway  ::)

Lovely looking girl - worth the sleep disruption, I'd say.  But aren't they all?  Starting tomorrow morning, I'm not getting up at 5...  Although my reliable pheasant who thinks he's an alarm clock will still be advertising for lonely ladies as usual!

Yes, she's bigger than Rowan's two who were born last Thurs. The benefit of being a single, to a four year old mother I suppose.

Great pics, well done Jaykay, now you can go back to being a professional during office hours!  My kids have just been enjoying those pics too.  Great.
