They look JUST like the ones in my bathroom, except mine aren't lovely and fluffy like that, :'( and the ducks I hatched are plain old ordinary black and grey cross Swedish Blue/Khaki Campbells :(.  Can you tell which are boys and which are girls yet?
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Thanks Mak. I am feeding them on baby chic crumbs from the organic feed company, which I get from my local scats store. This food is suitable for ducklings, as it drug free and does not contain any coccidiostat, as some chic crumbs have. It costs a little more, about £1 more than ordinary chic crumbs for a 5 kg bag, but better be safe than sorry.
Good luck with your muscovies, hope all goes well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you expecting soon :)

Hi doganjo and thanks for your mail too. No, I can't see what sex they are yet, not until they get their proper feathers (the drakes have the curly tail feather) and until they get their quacks, which is much louder in the girls. Girls would be lovely, of course, for their eggs, so fingers crossed. Plain old ordinary, love that expression. It's not the colors, it's their characters. To me ALL ducks are simply lovely!!!!!!

I have 2 Saxony drakes and i love having them around. they sleep with my chickens. they were part of a clutch that a chicken was sitting but a fox dug under the run and got her plus damaged most of the eggs. we hatched them in the incubator and were delighted to get live ducklings. they are now in their 2nd year.
