Hi, my name is Kara and along with my husband we are lucky enough to have brought 27 acres to live on and farm. Back when we brought the land 2 years ago, I had a vision of lovely summer evenings tending to the stock, but the British weather is keeping that at bay for the moment !

I currently live here with our two dogs, 7 Dexter Cows and 9 pigs of varying varieties.  At the moment, as well as working in my day job, I am starting to breed from our lovely SBx and GOS sows to get more experience with the pigs.  I want to breed something that is good tasting, but more importantly outdoor reared & raised.  There is nothing quite like watching a group of weaners hurtling down the field for the first time   Out first piglets were born 9 weeks ago, which was quite an experience and are now about to be sold.

Anyway, lovely to be here, and some really good articles to read .......

Just a Hello from a fellow Newbie - in your county, only have 2.5 acres, but breed Zwartble sheep, Light Sussex Chickens & bantams and have two cross weaners. Would love to talk pigs with you some time.
