I bought these full-mouthed ewes in Nov, My Wilts tup went in on the 26th, so I guess she was already in-lamb.

I hadn't been up to see these for a couple of days, I tend to bring them to lamb in the field behind my house. Still, they seem healthy enough, I hadn't brought a crook or iodine, and I'll be buggered if I can catch em, so I'm guesing they must have been born on the day I last went up and looked at them somewhen. I don't know if I'll bother iodining their navels as they seem to have dried up. Still, I'll have a bloody good try when I go up on Friday . 

Both are sucking and generally looking in rude health, otherwise I would have caught them up, of course. I will now be going back on my 'no concentrates' rule and have bunged a beetlix in.






Edited to add: I have already e-mailed the feller that sold me them, just to let him know he inadvertently sold me an in-lamb ewe and asking if he knows who the father is...

I was surprised at just how big they were, actually. I'm guessing they are pure Lleyn, but even so, Id expect twins to be smaller than they are. I've been squinting hard at the others to see if I can spot any more full bags....

Well, they seem to be doing fine today, in spite of the snow. The ewe isn't daft and hung well back even with a bucket of beet nuts being waved at her, so I  think I'll just leave them alone, It is a slight worry I haven't iodined navels, but I think the horse has already bolted on that one anyway. I'll just leave em be now, been desperately peering for any other bagging up that might be going on, but I can't see any.

I am informed that the tup is likely a pure Lleyn lamb (the guy I bought them off doesn't ball either) - and he has been having the odd 'surprise' since christmas, but they have stopped for him now, so I'm hoping that this is the end of it.
