oops where's me trousers
« on: November 03, 2011, 01:45:46 pm »
So my comfy old trousers finally gave up on this morning's dog walk :dog: all the holes joined up and that was that. They were frayed at the waistband and on the bottoms, they had holes in the knees (only little ones) and they had a hole where my hubby says i rub my legs together!!! when i walk, so time to retire them but they are sooooo comfy
I first bought them to go running in and that lasted all of 1 day
Then i used them for getting into when i came home from work; sofa trousers  ;)
Then we moved on to handling sheep in them and they've been covered in all sorts of unmentionables :sheep: :horse: :cow:
I'm going to miss them so i hope you don't mind me sharing, :bouquet:   good bye my friends you will now be washing my windows and dusting my coffee table (promise i will wash them first) :o

;D  At least they are being recycled, and getting more use!!

I know exactly how you feel about your trousers.  I have a black pair of pull on jods.  They are heavyweight, stretchy and so comfy.  I wear them most of the time, and when they are in the wash, try and dry them quick to wear again!!!  Unfortunately, they have developed holes in both knees, the pocket has a hole, so no use for carrying stuff in anymore - and more worrying  I now consider them too indecent to wear .....a big hole has developed between the legs of my beloved trousers :(

I have got other pairs, but none as nice and comfy as these.  Sadly, I have to face up to saying they are no longer fit for wearing.

I too mourn the loss of favourite trousers ... my "best" pair of gardening/animal ones gave up the ghost recently. they were second-hand but hardly worn off e-bay!
I have also "borrowed" a pair of lovely jeans off the husband - they fit me much better!  could do with a patch on the knee though....

Never fear - all is not lost Feldar. Just wear another pair of jods over or under your favourites...the holes will not match up so you can be decent again.....thats what my sister does !! ;D ;D

Must be the time of year - one pair of my working jeans has just disintegrated and another is going that way. They get holes in the same places - where my pocket knife rubs and on the fronts of my thighs. Thye've been patched by removing the back pockets but they are now irrepairable  :(

Have to break some new ones in  ;D
