Seaweed as a supplement
« on: October 09, 2011, 10:35:46 pm »
Hello all,

I am starting to get more confident with my newfound position as Goat-keeper Extraordinaire.
The herd has gone from a number of 3 to 15 in a matter of days!

However as result I am now looking into putting together my own feed. As a starting point i have heard that seaweed is really good for them and great as a mineral supplement.

As always, your thoughts please, the good, the bad and the ugly!

Many Taa's

Have always found seaweed to be a good supplement, and easy to get hold of as well. Someone I know said they had found that seaweed had worked well on improving a goat's feet (mild chronic laminitis) which I hadn't heard of before....

Seaweed isn't easy to get hold of if you live in the centre of the country!   :(  Will the goats eat it as it is or do you do anything to it?  (Just in case anyone we know decides to have a day at the seaside).  ;)
