Hi from a new member in West Yorkshire
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:38:59 am »
Hi
My wife and I have a small holding of 5.5 acres. We have a shetland cow and heifer - with another cow and calf coming soon.
Also Pygmy goats, a cob and a Dales pony and 1 hen!
We have had horses and ponies for almost 15 years but the venture into other livestock is still firly new to us having only had the cattle and goats for 2 1/2  years.
Often we wonder what on Earth we are doing this for but it keeps us fit and sometimes it's even a pleasure!

Were out digging & putting in new drainage in our field and it's raining cat & dogs!!! But everyone seems to be having fun with the mini digger  :D

Welcome

We are just in Derbyshire - close to the Yorkshire border.  We have 5 Dales ponies, and Fells, and other ponies, lots of hens, lots of goats, sheep, llama ......quite a selection :)

Hi and welcome from sunny Carnoustie

We've got 2 Shetland heifers that I'm trying to get in calf (fngers and toes crossed currently). Are you members of SCBA? The AGM is near Driffield with a visit to Epicure's Larder. If you're going, we'll meet you there  :cow: :cow:

Hello from t'other side of the country.  (North Cumbria.)  Dales and Fells here, commercial suckler herd and house Jersey cow, commercial sheep flock, pig (due to produce more in a week or so), choox, working collies.  Welcome!
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
