I popped along to the Colchester Auctions today and found myself coming home with two female ducks and a baby mini lop rabbit (he was only £1)

Now rabbit no problem...lol, but ducks I havnt a clue and will be my first, so would anyone be kind enough to give me the basic on care pls, i will research on net but theres nowt like advice from people who do so to speak.

I have there housing all sorted and I plan on buying a kiddies plastic pladdling pool tomorrow for them.

Any adivce would be a great help.

Hi Maria
Mine eat the same as the chooks - layers pellets, some veg, some bread - when it's given us.  I have tried the blow up paddling pools but the best one is what I have now - a solid one.  Don't worry that the water is muddy - even if you give them absolutely fresh clear water it will be muddy in 10 seconds.  I have a smaller bowl that they can't swim in with reasonable clean water in it for drinking, and the paddling pool always has a one inch thick layer of mud on the bottom when I tip it out once a week.  They love the tipping out process but it makes an awful mess of the grass, talking of which you'll have none left after a while!  Enjoy!
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
