GOS sows for sale
« on: June 19, 2011, 05:36:21 pm »
I have 2 GOS sows for sale, both aged 18mths and both from the same litter. I am having to sell them due to ill health. They have never been put in pig because of accomodation problems but that was the intention when we bought them. They are unregistered but come from a good local breeder. They are both friendly though one is quieter than the other but both come to the bucket.  I would like £100 each. Can deliver but would need to charge for fuel. I am in Pocklington, East Yorks.

Gill, very sorry to hear that you are not well and are having to give up your pigs.

More experienced people than me will be able to comment on how likely it is that the girls may still be able to breed.

Are you wanting a forever home for them, whether or not they can still breed?
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

But if I would want to buy them, I'd like to know the lines, they should also match to my boar....

If the breeder had intended them to be bred from they would have registered them.

Please don't breed from unregistered stock.  Let's keep the rare breeds going by only breeding from Registered stock.  The only way to tell you have the real thing.
