I would just like to say what a helpful and friendly site I have found this to be. I have been involved with smallholding for the past 15 years when my son was born. We have poultry, pigs, sheep and goats all in small numbers along with four dogs and a cat. I feel I still have so much to learn and skills to try. I would love to learn to spin wool, make soap and cheese. I grow vegetables and have just had some new flower beds dug out to try and grow cut flowers, big Sarah Raven fan. Later this year I am hoping to fulfill a childhood dream and have my own Shetland pony foal, (he was born in April on a neighbouring farm) so hopefully he will join our menagerie towards the end of the year.

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
