After the horrible week I had, I wasn't sure about going to Fife Show today not to mention the forecast was rain..
But I decided it would be ok as the forecast changed to dry morning, wet afternoon, so I went over (all of 6 miles!) and got in right beside the gate into the heavy horse parking which was very convenient - spent most of the morning watching the highland pony inhand classes and then went for a coffee and a wander about.
Met my old boss and his family, plus a former colleague from another university, both in the poultry tent which was a bit spooky

but then ran into NorthFifeDuckling, a few HP folk, and some poor Shetland sheep breeders from Haddington who I pestered with coloured sheepy questions in between their classes.. If you were that lady my apologies and thanks, I just couldn't help myself

I found a few lambs I fancied popping into a pocket each but resisted and headed back to the poultry area where I had a loosely arranged possible remeeting with NFD but instead I got sidetracked into the RBST area by some extremely expensive chicken accommodation

then spotted a few lovely piglets, had a look and started to wander back to poultry only to be waylaid by name

and discovered Robert and Lillian were with said piggies so that was lovely too

One wee piggie was just so cute but having seen the size of mum I don't think he/she would be a suitable pet for me just now, sorry Robert

Treated myself to chips on the way back to the ridden pony classes and the inhand championships but by then I'd had enough and was ready to head home so here I am, a person who strangely appears to have experienced a varied and enjoyable social day out after all
