Hi,
Through the magic that is Landshare, I'm in shares on a 4 acre smallholding. I still cannot believe my luck, as the smallholding is only 600m from my house, the landowner is a super guy and there is enough space to raise pigs, run a few chickens and grow our own food.

I'm now frantically looking for help, particularly in regards to the livestock.

This is our first pig which should be delivered in a couple of weeks:

Hello Frank, and welcome to TAS. 

Great to hear a Landshare success story, it's a great scheme and best of luck with your venture.

You said that lovely pig is 'your first pig', which suggests there will be more! Hopefully it's not going to be kept alone, or if so only for a very short time? Pigs need other pigs for company and good health. 

Anyway, if you've got livestock questions there are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people on here, so don't be shy and ask away. The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask.

Just to put peoples minds at rest, she will not be alone. At present she is with her Mum, then she will be with two other pigs which are being delivered at the same time, but from a different breeder. I posted her picture, as she is the first and I don't have any pics of the other two yet!

I am on Landshare too. I'm really hoping that some land will become available for me soon. It is a great scheme!
