I am making a slow recovery from a complete hysterecctomy opp three weeks ago. Off work for two or three months I imagine. I am enjoying the sunshine and trying not to get frustrated with all the things that I would normaly lift without thinking. My neighbours and family have been really supportive helping with hoovering, cooking, childcare, driving and helping to get feed and water out to the animals. On the plus side I have been able to sit back and enjoy the piglets in the mud bath, the chicks hatching and lambs enjoying this balmy spring weather. The minus is the setbacks to my recovery from doing too much too soon, or daft things like trying to catch falling children, that will be the built in kamikaze auto pilot! Also minus is sneezing my new muffin top.

Hye Raven, been there done that, got the hysterical-rectum-T-shirt !! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Best thing EVER, opting for that op. Once you get over the surgery you will feel great! I think all women should get the Op as soon as the 'tackle' is redundant!! LOL
all the best, do take care of your wounds.... and your abdonimal muscles, you need them for the rest of your days  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Broken bones !!!
I will push my luck and say that at the moment , I don't have any actually broken  !!
However !! over the years I have broken just about every bone that is possible to break.
I had a m/bike smash (well a few actually) , and broke both ankles , both wrists , both collar bones , both cheek bones ,jaw, left leg lower , right leg upper ,fractured pelvis , and fractured skull twice.
I also had a mahoosive car smash in '83 , in which I crushed : 2 vertebrae in my neck , 3 in my back and twisted the spine between the two places . I also broke both collar bones , my sternum , most of my ribs , my shoulder blade , both wrists , every bone in my right hand plus split it in half like a bun !! Both cheek bones smashed and shifted back 1/4" , both sides of my jaw ,my nose and ripped off 1/2 my face ( luckily they stitched it back on ok !!! lol) .I also broke my pelvis both sides , fractured both thighs the left knee and both ankles . My skull was also smashed to bits and actually popped open fully at the top/back .
Since then I have had the ligament pop in my left knee 3 or 4 times , and dislocated god knows how many joints .
I now go very careful !!! I walk very steadily as bits are likely to start dropping off !!!
I suffer terrible vertigo , due the the head injury , and I have an on/off limp that drives me potty. I have  permanent double vision , some days worse than others, and I get severe headaches also due to the head injury .
I hate winter , as every bone in my body screams out in agony and I detest ice , as sods law, I will go arse over tit on ANY that is about . I don't bounce anymore ... I just go 'thud' and then the long drawn out moan of agony !!!!!!!!
But on the bright side .. I can still walk , 6 miles+ a day , I can shift most things , although car engines are out  !!! , and I have learnt how to do most things , just in a different way to how I used to do them .
Yep we all get by , and make do and mend . I like to think I can cope with anything ...apart from loud music !!! ::) ;D

cheers

No more Motorhead for you then Russ!! Thanks for the thumbs up Pikilily, I am sure you are right about it being the start of a better life. Just got to go sooooo sloooooow at the moment. Put out the recycling bins this morning, big mistake, have done bugger all for the rest of the day. Great thing is that my right arm works fine and I can lift a wine glass. Cheers.
