hi all this morning when i fed my sheep i noticed one limping quite badly ,when i caught her and turned her over her front foot has sliced one of her pads quite badly i have sprayed her foot with antiseptic any other ideas what i can do its not a part of the pad which could be stitched its not bleeding but it must be really sore.

Dont know what to say are you seeing what you thinkyou see, if the bottom of the toe (cleet ) is badly sliced it will bleed profusely but i have never seen this. If the side wall is sliced it probably wont bleed  seen this once cut on a metal sheet , perfect cut no rough edges. Are you looking at a perfect slice or a rough split/ crack ? side wall or base ?

Hi  thanx for the replys I have been cleaning the foot with antiseptic twice a day she has stopped limping now ,there is no heat or infection so I will just keep my on her ,yes it is a clean cut so I'm at a lose as to how she did it , Ive taken over the Field from a neighbour and found various objects in it it I cleaned it up as best I could but could have missed something have to keep my eyes open for more junk .once again many thanx

Probably a piece of glass hidden in the soil.  Until twenty years ago our house was a bothy for the tattie howkers and there are bits of broken bottle everywhere - it's a never ending job collecting it all up, and always more to come.
