Muscovy family free to good home
« on: January 16, 2011, 08:41:39 pm »
We have a family of 6 muscovy ducks looking for a new home. We have looked after them for a year after a customer of my husbands asked us to take them. We thought that we could care for them and eat the ducklings - we did but actually i am too fond of them to go through that whole cycle again. We have a larger flock of indian runner cross mallards. The two types are not really compatible with the mallard x drakes being too bossy in the spring. also the Muscovies are making my hen houses muddy. Ideally someone out there has a pond or a river with a dedicated duck house for them. They are very friendly and will eat out of your hand. I will be sad to see them go but realise we are over capacity and something should give.
There are 3 ducks and three drakes and they produce the cutest little fluffy yellow ducklings. They taste good too.
We are near Kirriemuir in Angus.

We are interested in taking them. Do you know how old they are? We are thinking of heading to Forfar tomorrow if you are around we could come and have a look.

The girls are between 18 months and 2 years. 2 of the boys are about 2 or perhaps three and the youngest boy is not yet a year old.
I have no idea what their relationships are. But they seem good and healthy. My husband will be in about 3.00 - 5.00 I will pm you his mobile no. Lunanlife. Will update here after lunanlife's visit princess piggy so that you can decide what to do. :&> :&>
