Hibiscrub - worth buying?
« on: January 20, 2023, 09:46:23 am »
Hi all - new poster alert!
This is my fourth time lambing my small flock (Charolais ewes in lamb to Welsh mountain ram).

I'm prepping my lambing kit ahead of time and have read about Hibiscrub.  I haven't needed to intervene and had no prolapses to deal with so far, but want to be prepared.  Is Hibiscrub (£20 for 500ml) worth buying over, say a Triscrub (£10 per 500ml) or a basic antibacterial hand wash you can get from Tesco (£5 per 500ml)?

Thanks very much in advance.

I think people just say Hibiscrub in the same way as one might say Hoover to refer to all vacuum cleaners.

General veterinary surgical scrub is fine (e.g. this one, at £7.50/500ml).

Triscrub would be fine. Hibi seems to have rocketed in price. I definitely wouldn’t use hand soap though esp on prolapses.
