The same happened with my ducks a few weeks ago. It was the first time for a few years we had wee eggs as all had been in lay for a while - it left me puzzled! Blame it on the weather ::) :&>

It happens at the end of lay, also with older birds. I have blown and kept an egg from an old hen that is the size of a blackbirds egg. There was no yolk in it.

I hope you mean the end of lay per season (not for good), Sylvia! I posted a picture on here somewhere with all the different sizes we had  ;D

End of season laying I think.  My duck laid a wee egg a couple of weeks ago then I got three more normal eggs then she stopped altogether.  The babies won't lay till spring.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
