We are not having a bonfire, just using the firepit for a low level controlled fire. And having some friends over with their kids.
We do have an organised event near here, but last year it was so over crowded as they went mad selling far too many tickets, that the place was heaving, car parking took an hour and leaving took longer and of course there are stalls everywhere selling overpriced toffee apples etc that the kids all want.

So, we are having a small do in the garden for some mates. The cat is indoors and ignores fireworks anyway, the chickens are on the far side of the house and the cows in the field have gone back to the farmer. So only the foxes left to scare.

Besides - I dont like fireworks, they are dangerous and make me jump. I will indulge the kids with a short display and then just send them all to bed while we grownups have a beer
