Read quietly then send it back on its journey

Read quietly then send it back on its journey

    To realize
    The value of a sister/brother
    Ask  someone
    Who doesn't have one.

    To realize
    The value of ten years:
    Ask a newly
    Divorced couple.

    To realize
    The value of four years:
    Ask a graduate.

    To realize
    The value of one year:
    Ask a student who
    Has failed a final exam.

    To realize
    The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

    To realize
    The value of one month:
    Ask a mother
    Who has given birth to:
    A premature baby.

    To realize
    The value of one week::
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

    To realize
    The value of one minute:
    Ask a person
Who has missed the a train, bus or plane.

    To realize
    The value of one-second:
    Ask a person
    Who has survived an accident.

    Time waits for no one.
    Treasure every moment you have.

You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member:
    LOSE ONE.

    Remember.....
Hold on tight to the ones you love!

That hit home. I met up with a very old friend yesterday who has been battling cancer for fourteen years. She has been told that the cancer is now in her brain and liver and that she has only months to live.
She tells me that she is making the most of every minute left to her and her joy of life and enthusiasm put me to shame.

That is certainly relevant to me too - I had 3 bereavements last year in the family and have several friends or parents of friends who are currently living with cancer, one at stage 4..  I have learned to live every moment and take lots more chances (like leaving the day job) rather than find I have missed an opportunity and run out of time.

I can't say I regret it, tho I do have fears for my longer term security I am at least living my life now.
