Not been on here for a while
« on: September 10, 2010, 09:16:38 pm »
Hi everyone, not been on here for a while, have been sooooooooo busy!!!!!
My garden is a bit battered after all this wind recently, I have been trying to keep it nice as I am having my 50th as a garden party at the end of the month plus my daughter is getting blessed in the garden at the same time.  I was in Las Vegas at the beginning of August for her wedding.  What an experience, plane was hit by lightening and plummeted around 500ft down during violent turbulence flying through a hurricane.  The wedding was at the little white wedding chapel, to me it could have done with a quick clean with Cif and a good hoover.
We still have our 2 dogs, though one of them is getting very lame now, 6 chickens as we have eaten some and have lost some.  I have blight on my tomatoes in the green house, but the vegetable plot is outstanding this year, even with 2 freezers I am still running out if space.  Should keep us going through the winter.  My cupboard is overflowing with jams, pickles, pickled onions, elderflower cordial, red wine, home made lager and beer, elderflower champagne most of the drink is for the garden party.
Just watching a programme on rationing on Yesterday, very interesting.
Still working hard at work though I am looking for a new job, as there was an incident there a few months ago which has left a bad taste and now being bullied by the boss, complaining to higher management has done nothing, no support there, so hence looking for another job and off on sick leave at the moment because of the stress.
I am trying to make home made goats cheese at the moment, following one recipe, but when you look at others, they all seem to contradict each other.  I'll see what it looks like in the morning.
Regards Elaine

Welcome back, Elaine. Hope you find that new job - been there as they say!  My greatest thrill was gong in to work one morning, writing out instructions for my three office staff, tidying up all the ledgers, handing the company car keys to my bosses' son, sending a fax to our other office with my resignation as of that day, and leaving at lunchtime with my husband (prearranged for him to pick me up) having accrued enough holidays to cover, and having previously signed up for a better job with a much higher salary. Such satisfaction to get teh better of a bully! ;D ;D ;D

I hope I can manage to do the same, that would put a smile on my face and not hers, the problem is I was the whistleblower and innocent, but I am still being punished.  Everyone else knows something has gone on but they can't guess, but they know it's serious.  The company has a policy to protect whistleblowers, but I have no support, so I am beginning to wonder why I did it, but then would I be able to live with myself If the culprit still continued with the events, I don't think so.  I'm dammed if I do and dammed if I don't, no win situation, just get out is the best answer. If any of you know of any senior admin jobs going in the Elgin region in Scotland, please let me know. :) :)

ooh yes, make sure it public knowledge - I had to do that, was held hostage by a patient when I was 32 weeks pregnant. head of finance REFUSED to pay the measly £200 that this drug addict wanted so I spent 3 hours holed up in my office, all the staff on my unit had gone home as OPD was shut and as I was sister it was normal for me to still be there  ::)
next day (after my own midwife had driven to her own bank to pay my ransom) I told HR I was starting my maternity leave NOW and good bye but not before I'd emailed every one of the consultants and senior managers to tell them why

sooo....good luck with whats happening. remember karma will always come round and bite the bully in the ar$e one day when they least expect it. Everything will work out for you I am sure  :)

your plane trip sounds really scary thoughH!!!

as for making goats cheese - gave up, was too much hard work for me and no-one ever ate it so turn my milk into soap now  ;)

Greenfingers do not accept this work place bullying!!  i went through it 2 years ago and trust me i am the last person in the world that i thought it would happen to, but they have a power over you because most bosses know that you need a job/income! had it been out of work he knew exactly how i would of dealt with it and because he was such a coward he thought he had some sort of power. my day will come!!

anyway i have a friend who is one the top independant HR investigators who helped me through this and i wrote a formal letter to our HR Director and logged a grievance. once this was done i was signed off sick for elevated blood pressure & stress all caused by work, which was actually true as i do not usualy ever go to the doctors. My friend then took over the case and i gave her a diary of events over 2 years, probably up to 10 plus numerous snipes that were made. It was a real rollercoaster but the company knew they had failed and paid me a substantial settlement so that i didnt take them to a tribunal. The money was great but my anger remains and if i did see him again i am not sure how i would react but right hook looks favourable  ;D

I know what you are going throughi really do, so if you want the details of my friend let me know and i will send them to you, try and keep a diary of events and put down anything from the past, even rough dates will do there were some i remembered in a specific month or 2 but not the exact date.

It will be fine but do not let these people get away with it and just leave, really leave a sting which is your right to do!

I walked out on a job where I and the others in my team were bullied, I ended up on medication for blood pressure, still am, I was mad as I knew my to be boss was %&ap but thought I could deal with it, 3 out of the four of us left, the fourth knew how to play too thick to let the boss (famale) get to her and i think she is still there, how I wish I did something legal at the time but, I cannot even say on here, it was a government organisation and the porject I was on was set up by a realy clever Big wig and he was upset his service had problems, he even said that to me once, anyway, the person in question eventualy got sacked, I understand how hard it is to sack people, I even gave some evidence to my superior and nothing was done, I walked out and after 2 weeks off, I walked into a better job with the same body, I doubt that would be the case if I had have made waves!!!!!! Get out and sue the buggggggggers!!
