My hens first day out

My chooks have been kept in since I got them on Thursday.  Its such a beautiful day here that I thought I would give them their first venture out this morning.

Look like a hen version of a western when all the gang come out with thier back being covered by each other?? well I know what I mean, looks like they are protecting each other, so nice to see them enjoy the outdoors and live a normal life!!!

They are great, a nice mix, easily recognised and ,if anything like ours, hopefully different coloured eggs each.
( then you can thank each individually for your gifts )

Enjoy

I take my labs to help collect eggs and my Yellow lab Rohan poked her nose in while a hen was laying...she came out all guns blazing and layed a perfectly round egg!!  I had to get the dogs out fast as the hen was attacking!
