I take it the photos are not recent, but they do look a bit on the thin side?

To be honest I would think you will be struggling to sell an entire male and two castrates for anything other than meat.... sorry. They have no breeding value and with hay prices sky-high not many takers for pets around. And then probably not for 60 pounds each.

amy if you're struggling, why not try a farm park near you, or sometimes people just want to show examples of certain breeds of goats, you may get lucky, but like Anke says .......  :-\
registered soay, castlemilk moorit  and north ronaldsay sheep, pygmy goats, steinbacher geese, muscovy ducks, various hens, lots of visiting mallards, a naughty border collie, a puss and a couple of guinea pigs

Hi, I'm looking for a few male kids to raise for meat, any chance on a lead on the dairy farm? (Is it the one at Stone?) Also I can second the park farm, someone dumped a billy in my yard, he was in a sorry state so we feed him up for a few weeks before he went off to a park farm, I could try and dig out the details, it was over here near derby thou, just at the end of the A50 thou!

Is the toggenburg the entire one? and is he registered? I'm in the market for a BT billy at the moment as I'm going to have three girls that need serving this autumn,,,,

Ben if you are aiming for good milk production it would be wise to check any pedigree breeders in your area and ask for a spare male from a good milking line. I will probably have a few from milk-recorded dams and section mark males, but I am too far away.

I am not sure if it would be economical if you keep a male with only three females to serve though. If you sponge them to come into season at the same time, you can then have one journey to the billy. I have done that in the past and it worked well.

Sorry to derail thread, but would a kid from this spring be ready to work in the autumn/winter?

Yes, not on the same day for three girls though, and you may have to provide some "step" for the boy.... ;D , but he will be keen and able...

I used a GG male kid last year on  BT goatling, and it worked with using the step into the shed (girl outside backed up to step, ... repeated the mating this autumn and no help was required... ;D
