Adding to our ducks
« on: October 08, 2011, 01:16:25 pm »
Just wondered if any of you have had any problems introducing new ducks to the flock? We have 4 Swedish blue ducks (1 male 3 females) but would like to add a couple of aylesbury ducks possibly a male and female, would there be a problem with fighting or anything or should they all just settle in together as one big happy duck family?  :D

adding females should be ok, but i really wouldnt add more males, unless you had a huge amount of females and a lot of space.

More than one male anyway would lead to continually harrased ducks.

the boys might fight - on the other hand I had 2 boys for a few years and the only ones troubled by that were the girls  >:( - you do not have enough girls for 2 boys, though - trouble and murder! :&>
