Well, it was decision day for my ram lambs today. I had 5 to be inspected as I had applied for 2 registrations, and like to give the inspectors a selection to chew over! When they turned up, it was Janet Rogers and Mary Kirkham who are both seasoned inspectors, and Ann Rickson with Annette Martin who are trainees - 4 inspectors for the price of 2!
They got to work examining each lamb in turn for correct breed points and good conformation..
Annette is at the head end as Ann is inspecting the fleece, whilst Mary (L) and Janet (gesticulating) wait their turn for hands on involvement.
The ram lamb they are inspecting passed, as did 2 others so I had to pay for an extra registration. It will be interesting to see how they look in the spring when they have a full coat of wool. I am delighted that my favourite passed, I would have struggled to send him on!
