Bionic that shawl is beautiful.  Any chance you can do me one for Christmas?   ;D  Oh well, I thought I'd ask anyway.

Blinkers, I look forward to seeing the photos.

The shawl was very easy to make and because its crochet its much easier to pick up and put down whenever you need to.
It was made from 3 balls of sock wool and I just continued crocheting until I had used up all the wool. Because you don't need to size it in the same way as a jumper I guess you could use more or less any wool to suit.

You can get some on Ravelry - is that the one you meant?

I found a pattern for a cowl and knitted it in a royal blue mohair, having found an odd ball in my box.  That's my mum's Christmas pressy sorted.  I think there may be enough wool to do some writst warmers to go with it.

I'll do a photo when I've sewn it up.  Wonder who I can get to model it.  Don't think it would suit my OH.   ;D ;)  The pattern was on the Guardian website but I just googled 'cowl knitting patterns'

Blinkers,
I have just started knitting a pair of socks and I am finding it fiddly as well. At this time I am not sure I am sharing your love of it although what I have done looks very nice.

Whenever I've tried socks, or anything else, on four needles, I always seem to end up on three or even two.  I think it may be because I try not to change needles at the same point every time in case is shows, then forget to change.   ::)
