2012 fact or fiction
« on: July 13, 2009, 11:33:11 pm »
thought this would get a good debate going ;D

there are many theories...........

beginig of the end
new begining
a time of change

the most interesting point for me, beyond myth and prophecy is the galactic alignment, which could trigger another ice age.

rustyme, tullywood, kevkev you wont have to worry about food preservation then...everything would be frozen and last for years ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Why 2012?
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

I have read a lot about this. It is odd or perhaps just a coincidence that many factors seem to merge around 2012, and many predictions. There is also the one about the Pope. There will be one more after the current one, and thats it.

I was never one to buy into all these theories and predicitons. However I now find myself looking into it harder and thinking. Age creeping into it probably.

load of nonsense

nothing will happen that hasn't already been seen - war, famine, disease, natural disaster, extinction, new species found, etc etc etc

someone will take an event - be it 9/11, Avian Bird Flu/Sars/Foot and Mouth, tsunami and claim it is the end of the world, we've had a few lately, yet we are still here.

still, passes the time eh?

Maybe Gem - Might start breeding my baby Rottweiler,
when he is old enough he is only six months yet -
but it sounds like everyone might need a guard dog ;D

I think recently they opened a pyramid in Egypt and found that 2012 was the last entry to the future too - but it is not the end of the world - just a large change that happens ever 2,000 years - like the age of aquarius - we are in pisces now! :cat:  (No fish icon)
(maybe the other way around - hard to follow as everything travels backwards !!! ::)

I think it might be time to start building an arc - all myth and history from all over the world mentions this story , religious or otherwise

Thank god we are so above sea level - row row row the boat and all that ;D

Does this mean we don't have to spend any more money on the Olympics?

Well, it's still a couple of years away - anything can happen in that time - maybe a meteor will hit us, and THEN what would Nostradamus say! ;D ;D ;D

Hey'd say "oh come on, i was close"

and millions would go - oh yeah, fair enough, your abstract rant about nothing in particular nearly coincided with a major event and we'll accept that is what you meant all along

it's almost as bad as religion!!
