some of you might know for some reason my sweet little ladies
stopped laying for some reason :(
we have 10 lohman brown which are fab layers, well for the last 2wks or so we were just geting
3 -4 eggs one day we got 5(hey)
well this morning i went out to the house and seen only two eggs thinking here we go again also
they had chucked lots of their hay out of their box!
i was thinking what the heck is going on girls >:(
then later on today i went back to see by any chance if they had laid,
well there was 5 more!!!!!!! with a chuck sitting on them keeping them all warm.
i came upthe path to the house singing 'oh happy days'.
these eggs are vitalk as we have some in the incubator and we have some people who love our eggs
including us!!! bless them bless them
p.s. i did chuck the straw to the pigs if anyone is wondering!
i was thinking of loads of diff reasons for this slack laying, but im wondering was there to much straw
in there? are chucks that fussy mmm ;D :chook:

that's an interesting theory as my new girls have been shovelling the straw out too. the old ones were happy with lots of straw but my new maran, in particular, hoofs it all out in piles! will be interested to hear what the others think too
glad to hear you are getting lots of eggs! we are still on 3 a day from 11 hens  >:(

You may also look through the straw, some eggs get buried in the scratching!!
