we give them free access to molasses never had twin lamb once since switched from bucket licks to liquid molasses in addition we start introducing ewe cobs (ewe nuts or mix other aternatives) 6-8 weeks prior to lambing, building up to 0.90 kg of cobs per day for triplets,( 0.60 kg for twins, 0.30kg for singles but occasionally we may stop feeding so much cobs if ewes are too fat and therefore prone to prolapse prior to kidding. Last year we halved the amount as ewes were to fat and had few prolapses prior to lambing as grazing was still good.
You do get bottles of stuff for twin lamb etc. to keep in your first aid kit at lambing for emergency's. We also have lubril in case of assistance and iodine spray for lambs navels, marking paint, rubber rings& ringer. packets of colostrum we normally give triplets a dose of made up colostrum as well as on the ewe, Some ewes can manage triplets but with some one lamb is best taken off. you just have to keep a close eye on them, Hope this helps
