off to Hatfield tomorrow
« on: August 17, 2011, 09:39:36 pm »
Hi All,
As titled Robert and I are off to Hatfield tomorrow showing our pigs, we will be leaving early in the morning. Robert will be looking forward to all the new topics when he comes back and no doubt spent time answering them, hopefully he will not have withdrawal symptoms for being away for 4 days. Will let you know how we get on.

ps. the train station is right next to the showground so at least no as far to walk this time :D :D ;D ;D

The hatfield house show was always one of the best we've ever been to (we used to live nearby). Best of luck

two first in class    bpa young pig of the year final 12 entries  4 rejected  Hamish in the final 8 but no prizes the winner of this class was the supreme champion at hatfield  a rank outsider was never going to beat the supreme champion       to hot a day a lot of pigs stressed we left early avoiding the pairs class   car nearly got written of twice and that was just going to tesco for diesel   lots of pics to download  have to make a start to get ready for westmoorland
the big thing was we were there by invitation(by qualifying at the yorkshire) the first Scottish pig to go to hatfield so could not let the nation down    150 odd pens for pigs   met a lot of people both tassers and pig people  just hope everybody we met and talked to will remember the happy Scots couple  even in the torrential rain and heat wave    well London is nearer the equator
and a crystal whiskey glass for qualifying                still happy  :farmer:

Weird. We live five miles away and have never made it to the show: actually didn't know about it until too late this year.  It's where we have our closing meet courtesy of the Marquis of Salisbury just to prove that you can hunt in Hertfordshire.
