Quail on the wobble
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:30:55 pm »
I hatched out three Japanese quail 5 weeks ago and ended up with two male and one female. Yesterday I noticed that the  female kept falling over onto her head when she moved and that the two males had been pecking at her in the night. I have removed her now and put her on her own. She eats and drinks and is not light and boney but she cannot groom herself or walk as she just topples over and ends up on her back. I have been feeding her chick crumb and a quail mix, her water is changed twice a day and her litter is kept clean. The other two quail are totaly fine.

Does anyone know what could be wrong as I have not had quails before.

I know nothing about quail, but it sounds like a neurological problem to me.  Hopefully someone will be able to give you some useful advice.  Good Luck!
