Kune Kune piglets
« on: December 31, 2009, 09:31:20 pm »
I have a gorgeous litter of Kune Kune piglets for sale. They are only 4 weeks old and are growing by day. They are all birth notified and will be registered by the BKKPS.

There is both black and black/white spotted and both male and females. The boys will be castrated once I feel they are big enough so if you want a boar from Awakino/Te Whangi lines then be quick!

They are gorgeous!

All I can say is Awwwwww !
But wish I hadn't looked, cause I REALLY want a couple. Was going to be getting some this year too - right up until we found out there's another baby on the way.
Just can't afford them AND a baby ! Though I suspect in the long run that the kunes would be considerably less hassle and at least they don't give you any cheek ;) :D :D :D

The difference Karen is you can sell the pigs! You might even make a profit
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Ooooo I know ! ;D I've got the house, the fields all fenced for them already, everything in place and raring to go - just the serious lack of cash to actually buy the pigs  :( and the feeling that maybe I'm just not ready to start breeding yet - well, pigs anyway LOL !
But one day..................................................

You could try some of the rescue homes (for pigs).  Then you could have the pigs too.

My boys are, as I type, being castrated. HappyHippy, you could start of with castrated boys before you try breeding!!

There are still some piglets left for sale.

I lost one wee piglet through the night. The vet went to castrate it and quickly noticed a wee hernia, which is apparently worse than a big one. They gave him an anesthetic and did the castration, but didnt stitch the hernia. Why not???

They did say that he may die! Doesn't make it any easier!!
Anyway, one other boy couldn't be castrated as they couldnt find his bits and the other one is now castrated and fine.

PIGS............Who'd have them???
