I use bleach when cleaning ot my henhouse.  I add it to the bucket of water.  Never had any problems, so far.

I use sorgene which is much more powerful than bleach and you don't rinse just allow it to dry before bedding up. I have lambing sheds and pig arks to do too so its worth me buying the agri stuff. I would have thought you'd be better off with jeyes fluid than bleach as it will give you the correct dilutions and therefore you won't have to worry about animal safety.
