Hello there!

Stumbled across your site!  Hope you have room for a wee one!

So, I've managed to "acquire" 14 ewes due to lamb any day soon.  I do have previous experience with sheep having worked on several sheep farms about 100 years ago.

I'm having a panic that that I've forgotten EVERYTHING!!

Always room for another sheepkeeper!

Tell us about your 14...
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I live on a 250 acre farm, we used to have a dairy herd but had to come out of milk 5 years ago.  So now we have a beef herd, and my Father in Law (in his wisdom) decided to buy 14 sheep as grass cutters!

They are a mix of suffolk/cheviot/unknown crosses.  12 ewes and 2 gimmers, apparently in lamb to a texel...  They came of a croft somewhere in the hills and are surprisingly tame.

Hoping it all comes flooding back to me when the first wee lamb appears!
