Dan will be on the RBST stand on Saturday. I'll be at the show on Sunday, to bring Annie home. Love to meet up with any TASers going on Sunday

I won't be going  :( .  I've just remembered I'm supposed to give a fleece for the wall of wool again this year, but we haven't even shorn the ewes yet  :o

Will be there all week, exhibiting goats. Drop into the goat tent. A friend of ours will have some Golden Guernseys on display in the RBST stand, and I think I have been tasked with checking on them first thing in the morning and last thing at night- presumably to make sure Rosemary's heifer doesn't escape and squish them!  ;)

I went. Haven't been before and didn't realise how massive it was. Took ages to get anywhere or find anything. The goats looked sweet though. I thought they might make a racket but they seemed quite chilled.

Goats are cool  :D   Brucklays pygmies were fab, very nice little examples indeed

I went too with OH.  RBST stand was great, better than I've seen it.  But you know what, it's just too big a show for me and I just couldn't summon up the energy and enthusiasm for it this year.  Much prefer the smaller Border Union Show in Kelso coming up in a few weeks, great size, do-able and a great turnout.

And of course there's the Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival .....  ;)

I agree - smaller shows are much more enjoyable - and affordable! Don't know how anybody has the money these days. £25 - plus £8 for parking - plus travelling costs... That would about be my budget for food for the month (apart from fruit and veg...)

Thank you Goosepimple - it was a bit of a long spell away from home but as it was the first time Pygmy Goats had a class at the Highland Show it sort of had to be done - but must admit was pretty knackered by the time I got home.
Really proud of my wee girls for handling the situation and wee Etti who wooed the visitors stood on her hay rack almost 24/7 (she does it as home so I wasn't worried) but roll on the nice small local shows!!
Pygmy Goats, Shetland Sheep, Zip & Indie the Border Collies, BeeBee the cat and a wreak of a building to renovate!!
