The 2015 National Shetland Sheep Show and Sale will take place at Lanark Agricultural Centre on Friday 28th August (Show, 10am) and Saturday 29th August (Sale, 10am). This is a big deal for Shetland breeders with 20 Champions from all over the UK competing for the Champion of Champions. There is also a craft and fleece competition.

There is also a show and sale of Hebridean sheep and a general sale of rare and traditional breeds - and by all accounts it's a big entry.

As a side remark, animals purchased at the sale will be eligible to be shown at the Scottish Smallholder Festival at the same venue on 26th September. Animals have to be in the exhibitors' ownership on 1st September and entries close on Friday 4th September. www.ssgf.uk for schedules and entry forms for the festival.
