Sunday's pub-lunch roast was dismal - a small discount was offered having expressed disappointment. I've now decided to never go for a "Sunday lunch" ever again unless it is actually described as a "carvery" which infers freshly roasted/cooked ingredients. That said, I can recall some lovely lovely plated "lunches" at the Polgooth Inn and the Kings Head in Ruan Lanihorne if you are ever visiting mid Cornwall.
For consistent quality, Bodmin Golf Club offers a decent Sunday carvery roast (if they have re-opened post-Covid).
While I dislike queuing for a "carvery", I hate paying for a dismal over-priced pre-plated meal even more.
