i saw a bumble bee hive advertised in a gardening magazine, with queen, workers and food included. apparently they only live one season. has anyone ever tried this?

They don't store honey so unless you want them as pollinators what would be the purpose?

guess the gardening mag means them to be pollinators Billy  (else it'd be in a beekeeping magazine!     )
  no need to try it here, we get loads of different bumblers... had to put a couple outside today that'd got in the kitchen

iv no idea what the purpose was, i was thinking the bumble bees were on the decline so might be fun, and keep me entertained until we have time for a real hive. wasnt cheap tho.
