I have just persuaded my other half that I can go to the Lanark sale on Wednesday...
anyone else planning to go?
I am after some Shetland ewes (maybe), but the catalogue doesn't say what colour they are.... so taking the trailer but no idea if it will be a waste of diesel or not...

It's on Thursday, I think.
I was planning to go but trailer otherwise engaged and only a few Coloured Ryeland ewe lambs, so if demand is high, I might have a wasted journey and I just don't have time for that just now.
-
Just had a look at the catalogue & there's nothing there that takes my fancy.
In saying that, come thursday morning i'll be champing at the bit raring to get over there ::)
-
I'm hoping to go, nothing in the catalouge jumped out at me -apart from the llama and the mini shetlands - but it's supposed to be a pig buying day ;) As long as things aren't too hectic here I'll be the one with the blue buggy and red haired toddler !
-
Llama, I'm off to see th catalogue.... :P
-
oh oh i want to go but i've hurt my back and not sure i would be able to drive/walk aorund.....does anyone want to buy the 3 berkshire weaners for me please???????????????? (assuming they are ok and dont cost much of course...)
-
I daren't go as I'd come home with all the ponies with no where to put them!
I have enough equines at the moment, need to leave space for other animals next year. I must NOT buy anything this year, must not, must not.........
-
After starting the thread I will now not be able to go, as I have a lamb in "intensive care" due to flystrike on her (Treated with Vetrazin!) back. It is quite bad as I only saw it when she stopped moving around, her fleece was looking normal. A couple of big holes on her back, but she is still quicker at the feed trough than her healthy sister.... So now "cleaning her out" twice a day, not a job I love! Just hope she pulls through, she is my biggest ewe lamb, meant to stay for breeding!
-
The idea of going is great. However I have no where left at the moment and would love to bring everything home...
What you done to your back?????

I'm afraid I too will have to make my apologies :(
I'm still waiting for my pig to farrow and haven't quite got round to finishing my fences so no more piggies for me at the moment :'(

Well Laura I didn't know what pigs you wanted so I just bought the lot - yes every pig they were selling is on it's way to you. hee hee hee ::) ::)
-
Just back from Lanark. Male llama sold for £120 and the Berkshire weaners were only £19 each.

Now I am furious... >:( >:(
-
Well we did try to convince you to go.....
What a bargain.... and no wee piggies for laura... and no more chookies for me
:dunce: ;D
-
I really am kicking myself, wish I had a contact for the sellers of the Llama to contact them and see if they have any more. ???
-
James
I have still got my programme if sellers name is on it I will let you know their details.
Although pigs & llama were not expensive I thought that any decent chicks were quite expensive e.g. point of lay brown hybrids and black rocks were between £15 and £20
-
That would be brilliant Andrew, thank you. :) Knowing my luck any others they have to sell will be £3 or £4000.
-
james dony you worry about kicking yourself my friend......COS I WILL BE KICKING YOU WHEN I NEXT SEE YOU!!! i paid more than double that for my last berkshires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
