I feel fat,
well fatter than normal, which means yesterday must have been a great day...
and the best bit is i get to start again in a few minutes and do it all again today (family politics means 2 christmas celebrations for my immediate family)
todays highlight will be finally getting to try the rather nice Kune Gammon we cooked tuesday and had warm, by today it should be fantastic with bubble and squeak!!!
God Bless to you all
Lets hear about your food highlights of the holidays!!!

We had a big turkey which has lots and lots left. Then we ate a whole Christmas pud between us.
Today family are coming so it's another roast but this time with out own pork. I am making a sticky toffee pudding for afters so it will be another slimming meal ;D

We had a roast yesterday and I spoiled the meal by asking for mustard. Otherwise everything on the table was all our own produce.
We did not over eat but champagne, beer, white then red wine took it's toll on me and I was up at 05:00 searching for headache tablets.
Dog looks fat though so I bst take her for a walk ( assuming I can find a hunt free zone).

Had our 'Big Lad' for dinner ( our favourite young cockerel hatched in the incubator last spring). Kept him for Christmas as he was special so deserved a special time to eat him
He was bigger than expected so plenty left which was going to be sarnis and dog tea but my dad kept nibbling pieces through the afternoon so little is left :'( on the upside he did say shop bought ones will always be a disappointment after tasting ours
There was also goose on the table for those who didn't like the idea of eating our free range, well cared for ( in my opinion :eyelashes: ) happy chap.
Homemade rhubarb wine and blackberry wine helped wash down homemade Christmas pud and chocolate log :yum:
I did manage to waddle to bed eventually last night :innocent:

well it was just me and H yesterday, the duck was wonderful, and i did have a 2nd helpings of roast spuds last night …. the biggest mistake i made , was giving our dog Kai a few sprouts in his dinner :innocent:
lets just say a gas mask would have been welcome ;D but he did enjoy
and !!! seeing as the weather was bad yesterday…i ended up eating my aunt's present…a box of praline choc's
better replace today ;D :roflanim:
must of eaten about 12 pigs in blankets…they where sooooooo nice ;D

I don't feel fat :innocent: , I know I AM fat :-[ :-[ . Where did the skinny girl of yesteryear go? Too much good food and stress-free smallholder living by the seaside :roflanim: :roflanim: .

I too feel fat but refuse to weigh myself for 2 wks. have no wish to depress myself. when life goes back to normal I will think of going on a diet for a month to get rid of a few pounds. Anyway I need the fat to keep me warm in this cold weather. :innocent:

We spent yesterday with eldest daughter and her family. We had the full traditional Christmas dinner, starting with home-made soup and then turkey, pigs in blankets, about six different veggies and roasties. Nobody had room left for pudding. A few hours later we started again with cheese, crackers, ham, smoked salmon, etc. I took the Christmas cake along and brought it home untouched.
Today we had a friend round for dinner so had broccoli and stilton soup, followed by roast gammon, roasties, sprouts, roast parsnips and squash, cauliflower and carrots. Again no room for pudding.
Tomorrow our younger daughter is coming with her family so we're doing the full turkey dinner again.

my brother did home made gravalax for tea tonight it was very impressive, first time he's done it and i think i need to steal the recipe!!!

Mgom - 3rd time lucky, hopefully pud will get eaten

Just a note to say I made the Christmas rocky road recipe from the TAS website for a late on treat with coffee and it was brilliant - don't normally like regular rocky road but this was lovely and tasted very festive with the ginger nuts in it, worth making for new year as it's easy with the kiddies :yum:

I must try that I feel there is still a millimetre or 2 before my clothes are so tight that they stop me being able to breath. :hungry:

Don't do christmas , so normal food here . I now know i weigh 13 stone in shirt and jeans , is that fat for 5'9" and 56 ? , think it is about right . Walking keeps any excess pounds off i think .
I have been up to 15 stone , but felt very uncomfortable at that weight , feel fine as i am though .

Christmas cake still intact. Maybe tomorrow. We did have a lovely time though even if I have just remembered the pigs in blankets are still in the freezer and we forgot to pull the crackers.

I too slaughtered a cock bird for Christmas. As I am alone I have eaten of it for four days now, Today I will strip the rest of the meat and mix it with some lamb mince meat to make pies to be frozen for later use. THough I have plenty of root vegetables in my earth cellar I had stocked up on "luxury "vegetables and fruit whilst in Denmark. A small cauliflower costs £4 up here.
I am experimenting with different jams etc, so in September I had packed raw blueberries in a jar and filled with a syrup made from crowberry juice with a good dashing of vanilla. On the jar I had written not to be opened til Christmas. I sampled it with home made sheep's milk yoghurt. Now that was good.
As with Rustyme, I keep my weight reasonably stable the exercise. My trousers are always tight now but that is due too two pairs of long underwear when working outside.

OH and I decided not to go with a sit down roast and veg Christmas meal - instead we ordered LOADS of different cornish cheeses :excited:
I made a pork wellington (home reared pork tenderloin with a leek mash coating all wrapped in a sort of shortcrust pastry) which is FAB cold, so we have been indulging in slices of that, interspersed with cheese, then with ginger and treacle traybake, or homemade mince pies, with clotted cream, or cornish ice cream, or both :excited:
Definitely feel a few :innocent: pounds heavier than last week....
Only another week to go then it's back to working it all off til the next time!
-
That sounds so splendid. I will try that next year
-
Rusty inspired me to hop on the scales and I think I have gained 5 pounds since september ish. 12 stone 10 pounds now and a few inches taller than you Rusty but I still feel guilty saying yes to the offer of xmas pud that Chris is serving up.
Wood cutting next week so I should shed half a stone with no problem

I am honestly going to move the rowing machine into the living room this next week so that I can row on a night instead of beaching on the sofa :P . I have said it for the past few years but 2014 will be the year to do it ;D

If you rig up the machine to the TV you can produce electricity to watch the TV while losing all your excess weight...!
