Title: what a differance a day makes
Post by: robert waddell on July 07, 2012, 11:20:32 am
when Karen left the forum(happy hippy) threads were started don't go come back etc  and Annie (dogandjo) was one trying to openly cajole her back
yet when Annie has left  zero    diddly squat     bye don't let the door hit you on the way out    strange
i like Annie maybe the two of us has more in common than most    well we are both getting on in life and very passionate about what we do    that in no way reflects on any other poster   i like simple Simon even if we did have a spat with his previous character  even Dan i like and do not envy him his position on here
some people just roll over when the going gets tough others fight back just like bullying it is the one that fights back that is made to be the disruptive element or trouble maker  and suffers as a consequence
so are we going to have Annie as a distant memory or will we encourage her back
it is up to the rest of the guests in Dan and Rosemary's forum to step forward :farmer:

Oh blimey, I can't keep up.
Annie's gone?

Of course we want her back too! We want everyone to stay and get on with each other  :-* and not give Dan and Rosemary headaches!

Ditto Jaykay  :(
I don't think Annie's keen to come back though, she sounded pretty determined to me when we emailed so I didn't want to push her  :-\ It's hard to get your head round it when you feel hurt by someone you thought of as a friend. I'm sure Annie has a lot of friends here on TAS and I know that if/when she feels ready to come back we'll all respect that and support her - won't we ? (She says with her big stick in-hand  ;D  :-J  ;))

If you read this mrs, c'mon back when you're ready

I didn't realise she had gone but definitely want to see her back.  She is the first person I look to if I want advice about dogs.

I think a lot of people would like to see Sandy back too though - Sandy and Annie are not going to get on, this will give Dan and Rosemary more headaches...
I just wish everyone could feel happy and welcome - and use the ignore button as appropriate. All the bickering gives me indigestion, although that might be the jaffa cakes too.

Well this is the first I've heard about it - you might consider letting folks know before assuming they don't care. I daresay I'd've noticed eventually, but if someone doesn't post for a few days they might just be away from home/ lost their connection.

Of course we want her back!

Come back please Annie; I don't know why you've gone but I'll miss your canine expertise and your opinions both if you don't come back.

Starting to get that way, DITW. It's going round in circles and not very productive.

Only do this forum and do enjoy it. Thank you Dan and Rosemary.

These threads are beginning to remind me of school playtimes. Everyone who wants to come back ..... come back ...... and all play nicely. Life is too short.

Heavens!! I didn't know Doganjo had gone either :(  I had realised that the breast-feeding issue was between Annie and Sandy, that was obvious even to me but what was there to to fall out about?? ???
I really feel for Rosemary and Dan and wouldn't blame them if they threw it all in and then we'd all leave :'( :'( :'(

Robert, speaking of what a difference a day makes, are you going to be affected by the recent shenanigans at Halls?
Title: Re: what a differance a day makes
Post by: robert waddell on July 07, 2012, 05:40:49 pm
halls were or is the largest processor of pigs in Scotland 7000 a week i had been informed   they even came from England but depended on the contract       halls were halls many years ago  then bought over by grampian country produce      who in turn were bought out by  vion a dutch company
as with all these company's it is buy up the opposition  then you have all the market     and you prosper or you fail        the Scottish government will work hard to keep them there as they have done with other company's Hyundai at dunfermiline one of the biggest white elephants ever    chungwa picture tube  at bellshill    portavadie deep sea oil rig base   Linwood       bathgate      silicon glen      etc etc
they did not entertain small scale producers     and when i tried to get them involved with the spka i did not get past the security guard       vion sponsored the rhs and some said as long as they were putting money into the show   they were the biggest stumbling block        1700 employee's but not many of them are Scots the majority are Polish        only time will tell :farmer:

Just to be controversial, and since my name got mentioned below, I will say that there was only one person on my ignore list and she's just left.

Enough on such introspection.  Life moves on, so should we.

Sorry guys, this is all getting a bit too silly, and I'm now struggling to keep up with who's still here and who has left the building.

I can understand if folks have been upset by something posted, but why 'leave'?  Just stop posting for a while and go do other things for a bit. That way, if you feel like coming back later, you don't have any explaining to do!!

This is the internet!  Any advice or comments you receive from me via this forum are worth exactly what you paid for them. I also expect people to disagree with things I post - some will do it in a nice way, and some not so nicely, just like in the real world.

I'm off to talk to my ducks now. I've got them in all shapes and sizes, and they always get along brilliantly with one another, no matter how muddy the waters get  ;) . Oh, and they laugh out loud at my jokes too, which is always a bonus  ;D .

I guess if you were the retiring or reflective type, that's what you'd do.

If however, you wanted everyone to know how upset, offended etc, you were and how X had 'caused' that and should now be vilified for it, and if you wanted folk to run after you and fuss you and persuade you back - you might 'leave'.

Well, maybe a few of us have felt like we needed a bit of fuss making after we'd allowed ourselves to get upset by something or someone.

And doing it once maybe isn't such a big deal. But too often and the trouble with being a drama queen (I was going to ask if there was a male equivalent, but we don't seem to need one!) is that people get bored with it and 'leave' you to it.

I'm sure this is why animals are so therapeutic. They don't get miffed, they love you regardless of bad hair days, extra pounds round the middle or whatever and they laugh at our jokes  ;D

I've not been on much due to problems in my life, and I started to sign in last week after Annie, who had left me in peace to do my thing for a while, offered to come and help me out, dodged a rather tearful and feeble attempt to put her off coming over, gave me a big hug, listened to a lot of moany drivel about my sorry state, then spent a good hour helping me catch semi feral chickens to spray the baldy bum ones which I hadn't managed alone in all the stress of "not coping with stuff".  She then left to resume her own life, and at least 2 phone calls in that time came in from folk in similar situations to myself tho in different ways - she was helping them all to the best of her ability and that is some ability.. and she also took away my receipts for me to make sense of them for my tax return which I need to do early in order to keep my WTC payments going, pretty much the only money coming in right now ::)

That is what a real friend in need is and does - not try and fix you, tell you what to do, or agree with you no matter what they really think.  I wish I was as good a friend to others and to find she's gone off here now I've just come back because of her actions in my life, that is very sad.

I won't push her to return any more than she pushed me, but believe me I look forward to any day she chooses to come back.  Experience of life and how to deal with stuff is great, the heart that goes with it in some folk, that's something else.

Robert, thanks for the post, my limited experience of you is equally positive   :bouquet: and I look forward to disagreeing with you about something, tho having no pigs I don't know what about  :-J

Annie sounds really kind Ellie. I think very sensitive people can also be very sensitive to other people's needs  :-*
Hope you're beginning to feel a bit more able to cope (I know that one  :-*) and good to see you back here

been off the forum for ages and ages, and only read this thread cos it was from robert and he always has something to say about everything ...lol

ellied, sorry things not so good but looks like they are improving so happy for you.

with regards to folks comings and goings.......

in the 'real' world we choose our circle of friends, and of course, we move on from some of them as we, or they change..

so why is it not 'ok' with our 'virtual' friends i wonder?  there's a degree of anonymity with the internet of course and maybe if we all remember to think before we hit the send button, we'd all be a bit more tolerant of others...just a thought....

having said that, a virtual forum is always going to have people who differ enormously in their opinions, and some who are tactful...and some who arent...... i guess if you dont want to have the replies you dont want...then maybe you shouldnt post in the first place??????

dont know, just my thoughts.....

have a good day everyone, and even if you dont like tennis...send a wee wish for our Scottish player to do well.....
