Held at the Royal Welsh Showground Builth Wells.

I've not forgotten ;) I'm going ;D ;D ;D So is Rosemary
Look forward to meeting TAS forum folk there, so keep your eyes peeled for the mad Scottish woman loitering by the pig tent :D and come and say Hello !
Karen
-
Perhaps we should all get some TAS badges made for recognition purposes at these events,
Or should I turn up in my angel wings?
-
I'm going
-
I'm going on Sunday as I have birds entered in the auction. If the weather is good it makes a nice day out. Not so upyourbum as the Royal Welsh Show.
-
Maybe we can meet somewhere on the Sunday? Karen and I are there both days and I think Andrew's going too.
-
Don't forget we do B&B for these events if anyone is having a problem finding somewhere to stay. PM us

Agreed. The Festival is due som good weather. We will be there from Friday tea time with a trailer load of show sheep and my OH is doing sheep handling workshops this year, so we need to take another trailer load of sheep for that!.
Never get to go anywhere without half the flock ;D
-
Ive been going to the RW since i was little, the one thing that annoys me is that you cant get anywhere in a hurry lol, that what i like about the smallholders, its easy going :)
-
It's about 190mi for us so we don't go every year but we've booked B&B and are coming. Last time OH couldn't be separated from the apprentice blacksmith rippling muscle display...

I think I could probably understand that ;D Maybe it'll be colder this year and they'll keep their clothes on ;)
-
No chance. It's under a roof with half a dozen roaring furnaces. Anyway they're fit young men so any chance to show off won't be missed
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'll probably see you around the display at some point over the weekend then ;) :D :D :D

I would love to meet any TAS members......

;D ;D ;D
Yes - thank god my husband won't be there.
Last time we went to a farm auction he came away with a rusty pair of castrators and several calf drenching gun things in an old feed bucket........... we don't have cattle.
£18 for an old feed bucket :o >:(
You gotta laugh :D :D :D..... and it's great ammunition for years to come
-
I shall be there in the goat section from Friday Teatime onwards. I am exhibiting Toggenburgs so came along and see me, I shall be floating around somewhere in this section on both days. I would love to meet some TAS
:goat:lady
-
Hoping to make it on Sunday.
Will you wear a badge saying Goat Lady ..... please ..... then we will know who you are. ;D
-
We must all agree to wear a symbol of recognition , like an eye patch , or a "TAS " tattoo in the middle of our foreheads,
or a pink handbag , how about a dead daffodil pinned to your coat I might laminate "TIZAALA" but if everyone did that we wouldn't know who I was.
-
Or be carrying a scruffy dog. I will have to Archie with me for the day. God knows what he will make of it all.
Sally
-
WIll be there from Friday evening. Showing sheep on the Saturday and Tim will be doing his workshops over the two days.
-
Tizaala - can't you with a hole cut in your trousers? I'm sure we'd all recognise your bottom :-D
-
I'll be there Saturday hopefully and definately Sunday as helping on Ryeland Breed stand as some point.
-
According to my social secretary, we will be in attendance on Sunday and I will be exhibited by the first aid tent at noon approx. Good luck to all TAS exhibitors :chook: :pig: :cow: :goat: :horse: :sheep: :&> :bunny:
-
So are we saying first aid tent at noon on whichever day we are going?
Lookng forward to seeing some of you on the Sat.
Sally

Certainly sounds like a good plan :D :D
I will be there Saturday
-
I'll be there both days so will aim to be at the first aid tent at noon on both, as long as the pig judging bit is all finished by then
If anyone wants my moby number just let me know and I'll drop a pm with it - don't want to broadcast it on t'net - never know what kind of nutters I'd get phoning me ;) ;D ;D ;D
Looking forward to meeting everyone ! Karen
-
Karen,
Don't worry if you can't make the first aid tent. We can always come over to the piggy judging to find you afterwards.
Sally

Yes - the beauty of the first aid tent location is that it is closest to all the livestock rings etc so anybody showing stock will be near by
See you Sat :D :D
-
I'm going on Sunday, you will be able to see me I will be the one in handcuffs and a gag so I can't buy anymore pigs and next to me a wife with a tazer in her hand.
-
I can find the bandage tent on the plan........but not the bondage tent
-
Oh no I posted on the wrong site, my secret is out. ;D
-
See y'all at the weekend!
Hope none of us NEED the frst aid tent ;D
-
I will be at the First Aid tent for noon so long as goat judging as finished, or you could come along on mass to the goat section. I shall be there both Sat and Sun.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
-
Oo-er, I should've read this post earlier.
As I'm living relatively close now, I could come this time 8) - only my sister is visiting on Sunday so it'll have to be Saturday .
It'll be nice to meet people in real life; :) see you (Saturday) folks at noon - I hope.
Marcus
-
I'll be there Sunday. See you all at noon. Yaaaaaaaaaay!
-
The first aid people will think they have an epidemic on their hands with all these people waiting outside ;D ;D
-
I will probably end up at the first aid tent sometime on sunday, what with 4 kids, a daredevil hubby and two parents who are getting on a bit, someone from my crew is bound to need assistance!
-
Hope none of us NEED the frst aid tent ;D
Would you like to tell that to my tups?
-
Goats bathed, van packed and trailer readyfor the spring show at Builth tomorrow. Just me now but that will have wait until the morning. Quicker shower and fall into bed.
-
I've just read on the website that they 'strongly discourage' people from bringing dogs - how problematic is it to bring one (i've never been to one of these things before)?
she's not a 'stockchaser' - more likely to run away - and I'll have her on a lead as that's a requirement if you do bring one.
I'm a bit reluctant to leave the dog at home as it's a static caravan and can get very warm if the sun's out (I know it's not forecast to be very sunny, but that doesn't mean it won't be).
I suppose I can leave several small windows open, but would still prefer to bring her along.

-
The trouble with taking a dog is that you cannot go in any of the buildings with one. We took ours once and more trouble than its worth.
-
I was going to take mine but when I saw they couldn't go inside decided against it. So he will have to keep his legs crossed at home ;D
Sally
-
change of plan im only going be there on sunday as goats looks like she going kid tonight/in the morning ::)
-
I can't come :'( as i am still waiting for 5 girls to lamb.
hope everyone has a good time and NO ONE needs the First Aid tent!
-
Arrive too late on Saturday, and on Sunday failed to find the first aid tent. Why would you not sell the programmes at the gate?
-
Did you find a small patch of grass between two sheds that had a small circus tent and a lot of kids practicing jugling and circus skills , then there were two ambulances parked up, that was the first aid area ,
-
I agree about the programmes. I often don't buy one but think they have missed a money making event there. Maps of the event were few and far between as well.
Sally
-
It was lovely to meet you all. I had a wonderful time and am looking forward to next year ;)
Karen :-*
-
Me too.
-
Yes - great to meet fellow TASers
-
it was a good day shame i didnt meet any of you but i did leave without 2 teenagers so it made the trip home peacful and i got lots of helpful advice as well
-
Had a good day but missed the noon deadline, looked round the pigs a few times but couldn't see Karen. Will be showing next year so hopefully put faces to names then.
-
We all had a lovely day on sunday. I sold all my poultry that was entered in the auction and I was happy with the prices I got. I then spent a load of money on plants! I didn't get to the first aid bit as we were all busy in the circus tent. I can still do the diablo! My OH still can't ride a unicycle but he did have a go on a miniature penny farthing. My mum is dithering over whether to get a goat again. She's got an old BA that she used to show but she is looking to get an in-kid GG. I'll definitely be going again next year too.
-
Dont forget the main event of the year ' The Royal Welsh Show '
send for youe scheds now as it is on;ly a couple of months away, 23rd - 26th July , Too late to enter for this year but get your names down on the mailing list for next year , scheds sent out in April , it's a massive show.
-

Yes, now you mention it I and I even noticed the ambulances but failed to connect that with a first aid post! OH thought she saw one in a tiny shed with a clock on it somewhere but didn't find that one either
It's an event with a confusing layout. This was our third visit but we still found it hard to describe possible meeting points to each other. There was a leg of the trade stands I didn't find until late, behind the grandstand. We always avoid the parking marshals, park close to the farriers demonstration area and go in through the tunnel on the grounds that OH is going to buy lots of stuff. She did.
