Strange droppings
« on: April 28, 2018, 11:22:36 am »
One of my ewes who is not in lamb has started to produce strange lumpy droppings, not the usual 'currant' like sheep droppings. There's also quite a lot of pink mucus mixed in. She's fine, eating and weeing normally! Thanks

The pellets are more a winter thing when they are eating hay.  Now with the grass coming in, the droppings can become a bit lumpier and more moist.  The pink tissue stuff could be worms or just bits of gut lining.  The only way to find out is to take a faecal sample to your vet.

Thanks Fleecewife for your reply. I'm due to do a FEC. If it's gut linnig, is that normal?

I only know that when I found some in my sheep droppings and took the sample down the vet said it was just a bit of gut lining being shed and was perfectly normal.  But see what your vet says after your FEC.
