We have just found out today that our offer to buy 4 and a bit acres in Blanefield , Stirlingshire has been accepted. Our land is a registered smallholding but has not been worked for approx 30 years. We only found out it was for sale when we attended the first meeting of the Forth Valley and West Fife Smallholders Assoc. So already we are seeing how benificial it will be.
We are aware that there is now a lot of hard work to do and will appreciate any comments or advice on just where to start.

Hi, Janis and Andrew and welcome!
Best advice is to invite your mates over!!
Great start for the Association - lets see if we can keep this up.
-
Last week at the meeting you were telling us that this was your dream - one week later it's a reality :D. We're so happy for you.
Good luck

Hang on to the dream, then when the going gets really tough, stop and remember why you started; then its all worth it.

Congratulations, that's great news! :)
Best of luck with it, looking forward to seeing and hearing about your progress.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and support.
Went and had a good walk around the holding yesterday and there is certainly a huge amount of work to do. It is most certainly a blank canvas.
If anybody would like to visit or contact us and offer advice on where to start and what we should/should not do they will be made very welcome.
